🦊 MetaMask Setup Guide
Step 1: Install MetaMask

Download MetaMask
Visit metamask.io/download and install the browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge.

Create a New Wallet
Click "Create a New Wallet" and set a strong password. This password encrypts your wallet on your device.

Save Your Secret Recovery Phrase
⚠️ CRITICAL: Write down your 12-word recovery phrase and store it securely offline. Never share it with anyone. This is the only way to recover your wallet!

Verify Your Phrase
Confirm your recovery phrase by selecting the words in the correct order to complete setup.
Step 2: Connect to MEV Shield

Visit MEV Shield
Go to mevshield.ai/app/signup or click "Get Started" in the navigation.

Click Connect Wallet
Click the "Connect Wallet" button to open the wallet selection modal.

Select MetaMask
Choose MetaMask from the list. Your MetaMask extension will pop up asking for permission.

Approve Connection
Click "Connect" in MetaMask to authorize MEV Shield to view your address and request transactions.
✅ You're Protected! Once connected, MEV Shield automatically protects your transactions from sandwich attacks and front-running.
🧪 Testnet Setup (For Testing)
Want to test MEV Shield without risking real funds? Use the Sepolia testnet!
Enable Testnets in MetaMask

Open MetaMask Settings
Click the account icon → Settings → Advanced

Show Test Networks
Enable "Show test networks" toggle

Select Sepolia
Click the network dropdown at the top and select "Sepolia"

🔧 Troubleshooting
Connection Issues
- Wallet not detected: Make sure MetaMask is installed and unlocked. Try refreshing the page.
- Wrong network: Click the network chip in MEV Shield to switch networks, or change it directly in MetaMask.
- Transaction stuck: Check your gas settings. You can speed up or cancel pending transactions in MetaMask.
Security Tips
- Never share your recovery phrase with anyone, including MEV Shield support.
- Always verify the URL is mevshield.ai before connecting.
- MEV Shield will never ask for your private keys or seed phrase.
- Use a hardware wallet (Ledger/Trezor) for large holdings.
